History/Overview
The Chrysler Pacifica is the latest in a long line of minivans from the automaker now known as Stellantis. After practically inventing the segment, and adding most of the innovations that made it a household staple through the 1990s and 2000s, Chrysler has moved the family hauler beyond that humble duty to become a full-on luxury offering that can seat seven adults in comfort while still giving you everything your growing family could want in a vehicle.
What’s New/Key Changes From Last Year
The Chrysler Pacifica sees big changes from 2020, starting with an extensive refresh of its exterior styling. Chrysler has also brought back optional all-wheel drive for the first time in several generations of the van. A new interior adds refinement and comfort while a host of new driver assistance features and an all-new Pinnacle top of range model are now offered.
Available Trims
All versions come with a 3.6L V6 and nine-speed automatic and offer optional all-wheel drive. The trim levels available include Touring, Touring-L, Touring-L Plus, Limited, and Pinnacle.
Standard Features
Touring starts with exterior features like body colour door handles and 17-inch alloys. Inside is a 10.1-inch infotainment system with Uconnect 5. Tri-zone climate control is also standard with AC. Active noise cancellation, power windows, second-row sunshades, and power locks are all included as is Stow 'n Go fold into floor seating for the second and third row of seats.
Touring-L adds third row window shades and second-row USB ports. The steering wheel is heated and the seats are clad in leather while the front seats are heated. The sliding doors and tailgate all add power-opening/closing. Driver aids include blind spot monitoring with rear cross-path detection, forward collision warning with active braking, and rear parking sensors with braking. Touring-L Plus adds a 13-speaker Alpine audio system, third row USB, additional sound deadening, a floor console, heated second-row seats, satellite radio, and navigation.
Limited starts with polished 18-inch wheels, bright exterior mouldings, and chrome-cap mirrors that can also auto-tilt downward in reverse. The doors and tailgate add hands-free operation. Inside is a two-tone steering wheel and Nappa leather seating with ventilation added to the front row. A three-pane panoramic roof is included as is wireless charging and a Rigid integrated vacuum.
Pinnacle replaces the middle row with captains chairs and has an 18-speaker Harman Kardon audio system. A new Ultra console adds utility while the seats are clad in quilted caramel Nappa leather with two-mode ventilation. The headliner is suede and there is a rear seat entertainment system. Driver aids include surround view camera, adaptive cruise, auto high-beams, an in-cabin rear camera, lane departure warning, parking assistant, and rain-sensing wipers.
Key Options
Touring offers eight-passenger seating, heated front seats and steering wheel, and packages that add most of the driver assist features including parking sensors, adaptive cruise, and emergency braking. Touring-L offers the same options as well as navigation. Plus has the driver aids and roof options as well as Harman Kardon audio, and Limited allows you to add the top audio system and driver assistance features.
Fuel Economy
Front-drive versions of the Chrysler Pacifica are estimated to return 12.4 L/100 km city, 8.4 highway, while the AWD model should get 14.1/9.4.
Competition
Competition for the Pacifica includes the all-hybrid Toyota Sienna, the refreshed for 2021 Honda Odyssey, the Kia Sedona, and Chrysler's own slightly lower-content Grand Caravan that wears the face and interior of last year's Pacifica.
